Ukodhiko Visits Igbide: Pays Royal Homage to HRM Patrick Okpomor Agre I

The member representing Isoko North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Ajirioghene Ukodhiko, on Thursday paid homage to His Royal Majesty, HRM Patrick Okpomor Agre I, the newly crowned Ovie of Igbide Kingdom, at his palace in Igbide.

Ukodhiko, who was unavoidably absent during the official presentation of the Staff of Office to the monarch by the Delta State Government, said his visit was to personally extend his congratulations as a mark of honour and respect.

“Today, I am here to convey my hearty congratulations to you on your ascension to the throne of your forefathers and the successful presentation of the Staff of Office to you by the Government of Delta State.

“I commend your resolve to promote peace in Igbide Kingdom because peace remains the surest pathway to meaningful development and prosperity for any purposeful society,” Ukodhiko stated.

The Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Science and Technology, further noted that stronger collaboration between political office holders and traditional rulers could serve as a catalyst for socio-economic development.

He also urged the monarch to continue mobilising support for the administration of Governor Sheriff F. Oborevwori, describing the governor as an in-law of Isoko who has demonstrated commitment to the progress of the Isoko Nation.

In his response, HRM Patrick Okpomor Agre I expressed gratitude to Ukodhiko for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of respect for Igbide’s traditional institution. The monarch reiterated his resolve to promote peace, unity, and development across the kingdom while stressing the importance of synergy between traditional authorities and elected representatives.

Also speaking, the President General of Igbide Kingdom, Hon. Ven. Augustine Ovie, lauded Ukodhiko for his developmental strides in the community within just two years in office.

“You provided us with streetlights, school desks, and constructed a block of six classrooms at Owodokpokpor Grammar School. Our people have also benefited from your numerous empowerment initiatives, which you have distributed across Isoko Nation without bias,” he said.

He appealed to the lawmaker to give priority to the construction of internal roads in Igbide, stressing that road infrastructure remains the community’s most pressing need.

The visit not only reaffirmed Ukodhiko’s respect for traditional institutions in Isoko but also underscored his vision for a peaceful, united, and progressive Isoko Nation anchored on mutual respect, partnership, and development.
